Naniwa Traditional 8000
The Naniwa Traditional 8000 is suitable for hobbyists and professionals alike. This stone provides a smooth sharpening feel and creates a near-perfect mirror polish on edges and bevels. It’s also excellent for achieving a kasumi finish on cladded knives with evenly shaped bevels.
While it doesn’t wear quickly, regular flattening is needed. We recommend a Suehiro flattening stone or Atoma 140 diamond plate. (Suehiro Flattening Stone LINK)
The Traditional 8000 is a vitrified stone that needs soaking for 5–10 minutes before use. While it can be stored in water, drying it fully every now and then is beneficial.
